Thoroughbred lights

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is to walk Thoroughbred. When me and Doug were dating we used ot ride our bikes and look at the lights. Now, we bring the wagon with the kiddos all bundled up. This year we were lucky enough to do it twice. First we celebrated with the May Family. Tina was a great hostess and had everything all ready to make goodie bags for the kids to carry while looking at the lights. The next Sunday we had Mona, Doug's Mom, and the Gillette Family over for dinner and the kids were able to exchange their gifts. Dougie got a scooter, he couldn't be more thrilled. He actually rides it to the bathroom and than to the table to eat....you get the idea. Stella got her first stroller, which she pushes around most of the day:) This year was so much fun!! Dougie couldn't stop talking about everything he saw. Mommy look at dat, it's Santa. Mommy look at dat it's Mickey Mouse......again, you get the idea. One more tradition checked off the Holiday list.

Knott's Christmas Craft Festival

Every year we do our annual visit to Knotts Christmas Craft Festival. We always visit Santa and than eat at the Chicken Dinner Restaurant. We had been preparing Dougie for days. He kept saying " Santa says Ho Ho Ho" " I sit on Santas lap" but when it actually came time he wanted nothing to do with Santa. Last year he screamed, this year he literally didn't let go of Daddy. Stella was fine until she looked up and saw who was holding her. After we tried to let Dougie "warm" up to Santa...no such luck. I guess we'll try again next year.\

Candy Cane Making!!

Late last month Dougie, Stella, Mona and I join our group of friends at Logan's Candy Shoppe in Downtown Ontario. It was neat to watch the candy makers and learn how they form the candy canes. I have to say Dougie had no idea what was going on because the entire 30 mins he didn't stop staring at a group of girl scouts that we smiling and waving at him. He did get excited at the candy bag and warmed cane that he got to form. I fun way to get into the Christmas spirit.

Thanksgiving in Vegas!!

We have made it a new tradition to head out to Aunt Loretta and Uncle Mike's house for Thanksgiving. We always have such a great time, for some it's the only time we get to reconnect every year. This year we thought it would  be a good idea to leave late (1030pm) so that the kids would sleep through the 3 hour trip. Both Dougie and Stella decided to stay awake almost the whole way. But, Stella barely made a peep...she just stared at me the entire 2 1/2 hours :) Dougie kinda talked to himself and then would dose in and out. Anyways, Thanksgiving dinner was awesome, which it is every year. Another late night for the Family and than I woke up at 4:30 am to run out to do my Black Friday Holiday shopping. It went really well this year...maybe a little too well. We had almost didn't fit driving back home. We had something squished in every nook and cranny. The day after Thanksgiving is always fun. The Ladies go and get pedi's and the guys take the kids out for a fun day. I usually haven't been able to go but this year I was really looking forward to it.  Sunday after we returned home Doug yelled for me so I ran into our room. He told Dougie to "show Mommy your boogers Dougie" and I peer up his nostrils to see a blue bead and a green bead in each hole! The night before before we left Vegas we were hanging out at a friends house and Dougie came and told me "Mommy I put beads up Dougie's nose" and I said " No we don't stick things up our nose, No No No" Well apparently he wasn't asking permission he was informing of what he had already done. 15 Mins., a lollipop, a small wrench, and a few tears later we got the beads out. So, until till next year!!

Our Thanksgiving craft

We decided today not to go to gymnastics after Dougie told me "Dougie too tired, play couple minutes, read book, go ni nite". I guess gymnastics will wait till next week:) So I decided to do a nice fall craft. I'm finally in the mood since the weather was nice and foggy this morning. Which just happened to be perfect for our Pajama Day for Stroller Strides. I loved it, one less step to do this morning before heading out. Dougie loved it too because they got to eat doughnuts and drink milk. Ohhhh and the funniest/most embarassing part was when after class Dougie had to go "peep" and got naked, yes buck naked, grabbed ahold of a nearby fence and peeped. It was a nice naked buns shot.....at least it was with a bunch of other mom's that just laughed:) Anyways, here is a picture of our Turkey. NOT our turkey because my camera is currently being fixed (for the second time!!!).

Halloween 2009

Alright, my first blog. It was a crazy Halloween month. Filled with many Halloween parties, for the kiddos, of coarse. We started of this holiday season right!! I'm a little exhausted but this next week should be a little slower. Whenever I ask Dougie where we are going today he says "a nice Halloween birthday party". We definitely got our use out of our costumes. Dougie was Mickey Mouse and Stella Minnie Mouse, well a red and white ballerina with Minnie ears:) I had to put her in a tutu. First we met our friends at the park for a LARGE Halloween play date. Dougie got nice and sticky making caramel apples and decorating cookies. Grandma came just in time to play a little with Dougie at the park. Stella slept in the stroller for most of the afternoon. A couple weeks later we had a Stroller Strides Halloween party with a potluck. It was so cold and windy!!! I almost didn't go but I'm glad we made it out. Dougie always has so much fun playing with his Stroller Stride friends. Stella seriously sat in the same spot and ate her tutu for about an hour:) Next up a small play date at our house for our closest friends. It's nice because us moms get to talk......well mostly it's half sentences between managing the kids. But I'll take it! Then for Halloween we headed to our local pumpkin patch in Rancho Cucamonga. It was blazing, such weird weather lately.  Dougie got to go on a few bounce houses, in a petting zoo (which he loved the bunnies, we had to keep reminding him not to chase them), and on a small motorized car....all for the great price of $9.00. I'm being sarcastic it's amazing what they can charge for almost nothing. Later that night we headed to our good friends "The Campos's". Dougie talked the entire way about "Trac and how he would cry if he didn't see Trac" I assured him that she would be there and we were gonna have lots of fun trick or treating. Which we had to practice earlier in the day because when Grandma asked him " Dougie, what are you going to say when you go up to the door" and he replied "give Dougie candy"......Ummmm I swear I didn't tell him that. So we practiced saying "trick or treat" and "thanks". It worked pretty well. On the ride home Dougie told us about all the candy he got and how he ate lots of pumpkins and ghosts. Yeah, every-time I turned around his little Mickey head was near the dessert table. I can't really blame him,  they had some really good food there....I think I was full until Monday morning. Well that was our fun filled Halloween season. Now for Thanksgiving. Vegas here we come!!!
